Responsibility
- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, emotional, social, and career concerns.
- Develop and implement comprehensive guidance curricula aligned with state standards.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to identify student needs and resources.
- Conduct crisis intervention and safety planning, with appropriate referrals.
- Coordinate college and career readiness activities, including FAFSA workshops, college applications, and internship opportunities.
- Maintain confidential student records and document progress per FERPA and district policies.
- Use data to monitor student outcomes and adjust support plans accordingly.
Qualification
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Current licensure or eligibility as a School Counselor in Massachusetts or equivalent credential.
- Strong knowledge of counseling theories, developmentally appropriate practices, and crisis management.
- Experience delivering counseling services in K-12 settings; familiarity with guidance curricula.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and cultural competency skills.
- Ability to analyze data, create individual education plans, and track student outcomes.
- Commitment to equity, student-centered approach, and ethical guidelines (FERPA, confidentiality).
- Proficiency with assessment tools, career inventories, and college readiness resources.
