We are seeking a compassionate and results-oriented Guidance Counselor to join Harborview Education Services in Seattle. This role supports students across academic, social-emotional, and career development through data-driven planning, collaboration with families, and school-based programs.
As a key member of our Student Services team, you will connect students with resources, implement evidence-based counseling practices, and advocate for equitable access to opportunities. This full-time role offers a collaborative environment and opportunities to lead program development.
Responsibility
- Provide individual and group counseling for students addressing academic planning, social-emotional growth, and career exploration.
- Develop and monitor tailored IEPs/504 plans in partnership with teachers, families, and administrators.
- Deliver SEL lessons and classroom guidance sessions to support a positive school climate.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify at-risk students and implement early intervention strategies.
- Coordinate referrals to community resources, mental health services, and post-secondary opportunities.
- Coach students on college applications, scholarships, resumes, and interview preparation.
- Maintain accurate documentation, data dashboards, and compliance with education policies.
- Lead crisis response planning and provide timely support during emergencies.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.
- Current state School Counselor license or eligibility in Washington.
- Minimum 3 years of counseling experience in educational settings (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of SEL frameworks, IEP/504 processes, and college/career readiness.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and intercultural competency.
- Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and maintain ethical standards.
- Proven ability to analyze data to inform counseling programs and interventions.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practice.
