Job description

BrightBridge Education Group is seeking a dedicated Guidance Counselor to support students in their academic, career, and personal development. This role partners with teachers, families, and administrators to foster a safe, inclusive, and achievement-oriented school environment.

As a key member of the Student Support Team, you will provide evidence-based counseling, develop preventive programs, and guide students through critical milestones from middle to high school.

Responsibility

  • Conduct individual and small-group counseling to support students' social-emotional well-being and academic planning.
  • Assess student needs using evidence-based tools; coordinate with families, teachers, and community partners.
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive guidance curriculum aligned with the ASCA National Model.
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals to community resources as needed.
  • Advise students on course selection, college and career readiness, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Maintain confidential records, track progress, and communicate findings to families and administration.
  • Collaborate with faculty to create an inclusive school climate and participate in prevention efforts (bullying, mental health awareness, conflict resolution).
  • Lead parent workshops, staff trainings, and professional development sessions as required.

Qualification

  • Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Current state School Counselor licensure or certification; eligibility for licensure in MA preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in K-12 guidance counseling.
  • Strong knowledge of adolescent development, mental health supports, and crisis intervention.
  • Experience implementing a school counseling program and data-driven decision-making (ASCA model preferred).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; ability to work with diverse student populations and families.
  • Proficiency with school information systems, scheduling software, and educational technology.
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language is a plus; commitment to equity and inclusion.
