Responsibility

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to support academic achievement, social-emotional well-being, and career exploration.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive guidance curriculum aligned with state standards; deliver lessons on study skills, goal setting, and resilience.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify students at risk; design and monitor intervention and support plans.
  • Coordinate college and career readiness activities, including college applications, scholarships, FAFSA workshops, and internships.
  • Maintain accurate student records and confidentiality; use data to drive decisions and measure program impact.
  • Lead crisis intervention and safety planning; connect students and families with appropriate community resources as needed.

Qualification

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • State school counselor certification or licensure in Massachusetts, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
