BrightPath Education is seeking a compassionate, results-oriented Guidance Counselor to support students' academic, social-emotional, and career development in Chicago, IL. This role focuses on creating an inclusive, data-driven counseling program that elevates student outcomes and well-being.
As a Guidance Counselor, you will collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to provide strategic interventions, college and career readiness programming, and crisis support when needed.
Responsibility
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and college and career readiness.
- Design and deliver a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with best practices and the ASCA National Model.
- Collect and analyze data to identify gaps, monitor progress, and tailor interventions for at-risk students.
- Coordinate college admissions guidance, scholarship support, resume and interview preparation, and postsecondary planning.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Lead small groups on study skills, time management, stress reduction, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain confidential records, ensure FERPA compliance, and provide crisis intervention and referrals when needed.
Qualification
- Master's degree in school counseling, counseling psychology, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Valid state school counseling license or endorsement to practice in Illinois.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in school or college counseling preferred.
- Familiarity with ASCA National Model and data-driven guidance practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and crisis intervention skills.
- Experience with student information systems, data analysis, and progress tracking.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all school-based services.
