Job description

Northbridge Academy is seeking a dedicated Guidance Counselor to empower students across grades K-12. You will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create individualized plans that promote academic success, socio-emotional development, and postsecondary readiness.

In this role, you will apply evidence-based counseling techniques, maintain confidential student records, and contribute to a school-wide approach to equity and inclusion. Responsibility

  • Provide one-on-one and small-group counseling to support academic achievement, personal growth, and college/career planning.
  • Develop and implement individualized guidance plans using data-driven assessments and progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify at-risk students and design effective interventions.
  • Deliver classroom guidance lessons on social-emotional learning, study skills, college readiness, and career exploration.
  • Advise students on course selection, graduation requirements, and postsecondary options, including financial aid and scholarships.
  • Coordinate college admissions processes, resume building, interviewing practice, and scholarship applications.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and produce regular reports to inform school-wide planning.

Qualification

  • Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or related field from an accredited program.
  • Valid state school counselor license or certification (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in school counseling or guidance counseling.
  • Strong knowledge of adolescent development, crisis intervention, and social-emotional learning.
  • Experience with college and career readiness, postsecondary planning, and financial aid processes.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and cultural competency skills.
  • Proficiency with student information systems, data analytics, and confidential record-keeping.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
