Job description

At Emerald Pathways Education, we seek a passionate Guidance Counselor to support students' academic, social-emotional, and career development. This full-time role is ideal for a results-driven professional committed to equitable access to resources and evidence-based practices.

As a member of our Student Support Services team, you will collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to create a safe, supportive learning environment and help students achieve their personal and academic goals.

Responsibility

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling to students addressing academic planning, social-emotional learning, and behavior support.
  • Develop and implement school-wide and classroom counseling curricula aligned with district goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to identify and remove barriers to student success.
  • Monitor and analyze student progress data to inform interventions and referrals.
  • Coordinate college and career readiness activities, including FAFSA guidance, scholarship resources, and postsecondary planning.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and safety planning as part of the Student Support Services team.
  • Maintain confidential counseling records and comply with district policies and legal requirements.
  • Advocate for equitable access to resources and supports for all students.

Qualification

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling or Counseling Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Valid state credential as a School Counselor (WA preferred) or eligible for certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in K-12 counseling or equivalent settings.
  • Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate counseling practices and crisis intervention.
  • Experience implementing data-driven interventions and progress monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging group sessions and workshops.
