At Emerald Pathways Education, we seek a passionate Guidance Counselor to support students' academic, social-emotional, and career development. This full-time role is ideal for a results-driven professional committed to equitable access to resources and evidence-based practices.
As a member of our Student Support Services team, you will collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to create a safe, supportive learning environment and help students achieve their personal and academic goals.
Responsibility
- Provide individual and small-group counseling to students addressing academic planning, social-emotional learning, and behavior support.
- Develop and implement school-wide and classroom counseling curricula aligned with district goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to identify and remove barriers to student success.
- Monitor and analyze student progress data to inform interventions and referrals.
- Coordinate college and career readiness activities, including FAFSA guidance, scholarship resources, and postsecondary planning.
- Deliver crisis intervention and safety planning as part of the Student Support Services team.
- Maintain confidential counseling records and comply with district policies and legal requirements.
- Advocate for equitable access to resources and supports for all students.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or Counseling Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid state credential as a School Counselor (WA preferred) or eligible for certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in K-12 counseling or equivalent settings.
- Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate counseling practices and crisis intervention.
- Experience implementing data-driven interventions and progress monitoring.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging group sessions and workshops.
