Responsibility
- Install, diagnose, repair, and service residential and light commercial HVAC systems (air handlers, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps).
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and system tuning to maximize efficiency and reliability.
- Diagnose issues using digital gauges, leak detectors, electrical meters, and manufacturer software.
- Replace worn components (compressors, thermostats, fans, sensors) and perform refrigerant charging per code.
- Upgrade and install controls, thermostats, and building automation interfaces.
- Ensure work complies with applicable codes and safety standards (EPA 608, NFPA, OSHA).
- Document services, materials, and time in our ERP system; communicate clearly with customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service, educate customers on system operation and energy efficiency.
Qualification
- High school diploma or GED; relevant trade school or apprenticeship strongly preferred.
- EPA 608 Certification required; NATE certification a plus.
- 3+ years of hands-on HVAC installation and repair experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and refrigeration fundamentals.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics; proficient inverter/variable-speed drive experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; sensible physical stamina to lift heavy equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and continuing training.
