As an Import and Export Specialist, you will play a critical role in our global supply chain. You will coordinate end-to-end shipments, manage regulatory compliance, and ensure accurate documentation from suppliers to Align facilities and customers. This role offers exposure to international trade, incoterms, HS codes, customs clearance, and freight forwarding, with the opportunity to optimize cost, lead times, and service levels across multiple regions.
Your responsibilities include collaborating with procurement, logistics, and finance teams to support sourcing initiatives, maintaining strong relationships with freight forwarders and carriers, and protecting data integrity in our ERP systems. A successful candidate demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
You will also monitor regulatory changes, maintain audit-ready records, and drive process improvements to streamline import and export activities across the Align organization and its partners in the Asia Pacific region. Responsibility
- Own end-to-end import and export operations for the Singapore hub and regional partners, coordinating with suppliers, production, logistics, and customers to ensure on-time shipments.
- Prepare and verify all import export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure customs clearance and compliance with HS codes, duties and taxes, and regulatory changes; manage declarations and audits with authorities.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and carriers to book shipments, monitor transit progress, and resolve issues to maintain on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
- Maintain supplier and carrier performance metrics, negotiate terms, and optimize logistics costs while ensuring service levels.
- Collaborate with procurement, warehousing, and finance teams to support global sourcing and inventory visibility; assist with payment terms and letters of credit as needed.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP and logistics systems, generate regular reports on performance, and support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field
- 2 to 5 years of experience in import export or international logistics, preferably in healthcare or technology sectors
- Strong knowledge of Singapore import export regulations, HS codes, incoterms, and customs clearance processes
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel; ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; fluent in English, with ability to collaborate across functions and geographies
- Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Professional certifications in international trade or customs (eg, CI, CILT, or similar) are a plus
