Job description
Join NexSight Manufacturing, a leading innovator in industrial production, where precision meets efficiency. We are seeking a hands-on Industrial Engineer to guide lean initiatives, optimize workflows, and deliver measurable performance improvements across our plant in Chicago. You will collaborate with operations, supply chain, and maintenance to design robust processes, quantify waste, and implement data-driven solutions that drive cost reductions and on-time delivery.
What you’ll do: develop and maintain best practices for process design, use data analytics to identify bottlenecks, lead kaizen events, and standardize work methods. You will also mentor production teams and participate in capital projects from concept through commissioning. If you are passionate about engineering excellence and scalable systems, this is your opportunity to impact a fast-growing manufacturing organization.
Responsibility
- Identify and eliminate waste through value stream mapping, time studies, and data-driven analysis.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN, Six Sigma) to reduce cycle times and improve quality.
- Design, document, and standardize processes, workstations, and layouts for new and existing lines.
- Develop production dashboards and KPI tracking to monitor performance and drive decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute cost-reduction projects and capital investments.
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for quality incidents and downtime.
- Facilitate kaizen events, time-and-motion studies, and line-side training for operators and supervisors.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to manufacturing staff.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field; Master's preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing environment with process improvement and line optimization.
- Proficient in LEAN, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D).
- Strong data analytics skills; experience with Minitab, JMP, Excel, or Python for data analysis.
- Experience with production planning, capacity modeling, and line balancing.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements in manufacturing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational and time-management skills.
