Apex Manufacturing Group is seeking a seasoned IR professional who can navigate complex regulatory environments, influence decisions at the C-suite level, and build robust relations with workforce representatives.
Responsibility
- Lead and manage all industrial relations activities, including dispute resolution and grievance handling across multiple sites.
- Oversee collective bargaining processes and negotiations with labor unions to secure favorable terms and sustainable outcomes.
- Develop and implement labor policies, procedures, and communication plans aligned with legal requirements and company values.
- Partner with senior leadership to align IR strategy with business objectives, workforce planning, and operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; monitor regulatory changes and advise on risk and mitigation strategies.
- Coach and train managers on IR issues, performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Analyze HR metrics and IR data to identify trends, inform decision-making, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, or related field; advanced degree or IR certification preferred.
- Minimum 6-8 years of industrial relations or HR in manufacturing or unionized settings.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws (including NY Labor Law), collective bargaining agreements, and dispute resolution.
- Proven negotiation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills at executive levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in HR analytics and reporting tools.
- Ability to travel as needed and collaborate across multiple sites.
