NovaTech Industries is seeking a results-driven Industrial Relations Specialist to join our dynamic HR team in Sydney. This pivotal role bridges operations, people, and policy to maintain a proactive, compliant, and productive workplace.
As the Industrial Relations Specialist, you will lead negotiations on enterprise agreements, advise senior management on IR risk, interpret and implement industrial relations legislation, and drive initiatives that enhance employee relations across multiple sites.

Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end industrial relations strategy across all business units, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and negotiate enterprise agreements and variations with unions and employee representatives.
- Provide timely guidance on disciplinary matters, grievances, conciliations, and dispute resolution processes.
- Monitor compliance with Australian employment laws, awards, and safety regulations; implement policy updates across sites.
- Partner with HR, operations, and site leaders to identify ER risks, develop mitigation plans, and track remediation progress.
- Analyze industrial relations data, prepare reports for senior leadership, and support workforce planning initiatives.
- Design and deliver training on IR policies, performance management, and employee relations to managers and HR teams.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in industrial relations within a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
- Proven track record in enterprise bargaining, union negotiation, and dispute resolution.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, awards, and safety regulations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze IR data, develop insights, and present recommendations to executive leadership.
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
