At Aster & Co. Interiors, we redefine residential and boutique hospitality spaces through refined design, precise craft, and a collaborative client experience. We are seeking a motivated Interior Designer to join our NYC studio and help lead projects from concept through construction.
In this role, you’ll translate client goals into compelling, functional environments, develop nuanced material palettes, and collaborate with architects, vendors, and engineers to bring spaces to life. This is a unique opportunity to impact iconic spaces in a fast-growing practice.
Responsibility
- Lead design concepts and presentation packages for residential and boutique hospitality projects.
- Develop space plans, elevations, sections, and construction drawings with accuracy and clarity.
- Curate material boards, finishes, lighting, and furniture to meet design moments and budgets.
- Produce coordinating drawings and specifications for procurement and construction teams.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure code compliance and design integrity.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and client communications to deliver on-time, on-budget results.
- Oversee on-site assessments, inspections, and installation of finishes to ensure quality outcomes.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field; professional licensure a plus.
- 4+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably in residential or boutique hospitality.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit, SketchUp, and 3D rendering tools; strong presentation skills.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, detailing, and material mastery.
- Knowledge of building codes, FF&E procurement, and contract administration.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills with a client-focused mindset.
