Join Lumen & Co Interiors, a premium design studio crafting luxury residential and boutique hospitality projects in New York City. We are seeking a talented Senior Interior Designer to join our NYC studio and drive projects from concept through to installation.
You will collaborate with architects, FF&E teams, and clients to deliver spaces that balance exquisite aesthetics with pragmatic functionality. Responsibility
- Lead concept development and design direction for residential and boutique hospitality projects from schematic design through construction documentation.
- Develop space plans, zoning layouts, material palettes, and FF&E strategies that align with the client brief and budget.
- Create compelling design presentations and boards for client approvals, collaborating with stakeholders across disciplines.
- Produce detailed drawings, 3D renderings, and technical specifications using Revit/AutoCAD and rendering tools.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and fabricators; conduct site visits to ensure design intent is executed.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and change orders; monitor risk and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor junior designers, contribute to firm-wide best practices, and participate in business development efforts.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or related field; professional licensure is a plus.
- 3-7 years of professional interior design experience in high-end residential or boutique hospitality sectors.
- Strong proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; ability to produce high-quality renderings and documentation.
- Portfolio demonstrating concept development, materiality, detailing, and execution across diverse scales.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client-relations skills; ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines.
- Knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainability practices; a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, vendor management, and vendor relationships; detail-oriented with a keen eye for finishes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well within a multidisciplinary team.
