Join a premier language services team as an Interpretation Specialist in Toronto. This full-time role supports on-site, remote, and event interpreting assignments for healthcare, legal, corporate, and public-sector clients.
We are seeking a bilingual, client-focused interpreter who thrives in fast-paced environments, maintains confidentiality, and delivers accurate, culturally aware interpretation.
As a trusted partner, you will collaborate with clients, coordinators, and staff to ensure seamless interpretation experiences and uphold the highest professional standards.
Responsibility
- Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for meetings, conferences, medical visits, legal proceedings, and training sessions.
- Prepare and maintain glossary and termbases for terminology consistency.
- Coordinate with clients and event staff to set up equipment and ensure smooth delivery.
- Manage on-site and remote interpretation assignments using appropriate platforms and equipment.
- Deliver interpretations with accuracy, neutrality, and cultural sensitivity.
- Perform pre-session briefings and post-session debriefings with clients and organizers.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with relevant privacy and ethical standards.
Qualification
- Certified or professionally trained interpreter with 3+ years of experience in healthcare, legal, or corporate settings.
- Proficient in English and at least one other language common in Toronto (e.g., French, Spanish, Mandarin, Punjabi).
- Strong consecutive and simultaneous interpretation skills; ability to manage whisper interpreting when required.
- Excellent memory, note-taking, and terminology management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and maintain client confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work on-site in Toronto and remotely across time zones; willing to travel for assignments as needed.
