Responsibility
- Provide accurate consecutive and simultaneous interpretation at meetings, conferences, courtrooms and medical appointments.
- Prepare glossaries and terminology lists and maintain subject matter familiarity across industries.
- Coordinate with clients and event organizers to plan interpreting requirements, equipment, and seating.
- Deliver real time interpretation using conference booths, interpreting equipment and remote platforms.
- Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality and impartiality in all assignments.
- Train and mentor junior interpreters and support quality control and post event debriefs.
- Manage interpretation assignments in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Qualification
- Bachelor or equivalent degree in interpreting, linguistics, translation, law or related field.
- Advanced interpreting certification or professional membership with a recognized body.
- Native level English plus at least one other language with strong interpreting skills.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in conferences, legal, medical or public sector settings.
- Excellent note taking, memory, public speaking and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency with interpretation equipment and remote interpreting platforms such as Zoom or Interprefy.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom and willingness to travel for assignments.
