GlobalSpeak Interpretation & Language Services is a premier language services provider delivering real-time interpretation across conferences, legal settings, healthcare facilities, and corporate events. We are seeking an experienced Interpretation Specialist to join our NYC team, delivering accurate, culturally informed interpretation while maintaining the highest professional standards.
In this role, you will partner with clients, project managers, and fellow interpreters to ensure seamless communication, conduct terminology research, and adhere to industry-specific protocols. Responsibility
- Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for in-person and remote events across legal, medical, corporate, and public sector settings.
- Prepare terms and glossaries; conduct terminology research to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with clients and event organizers to understand objectives and deliver tailored interpretation services.
- Employ effective note-taking and memory techniques to deliver accurate real-time interpretation.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics, including impartiality and neutrality.
- Coordinate with project managers and fellow interpreters to ensure cohesive service delivery and scheduling.
- Assist with post-event debriefs, feedback collection, and glossary updates for continuous quality improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in interpretation/translation or related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of interpretation experience in consecutive and/or simultaneous modes.
- Proficiency in at least two languages with strong command of English; professional interpretation credentials preferred.
- Certification in interpretation (e.g., CI/CSOI or regional equivalents) is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical, legal, or corporate terminology and settings.
- Excellent listening, memory, note-taking, and public-speaking skills; ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong cultural mediation, diplomacy, and client-facing communication abilities.
- Availability for on-site and remote assignments, flexible scheduling, and occasional overtime.
