NovaBridge Interpretation is seeking a highly skilled Interpreter to join our dynamic team. With offices in New York, we deliver high-stakes interpretation for corporate events, legal proceedings, medical appointments, and on-demand remote assignments. Responsibility
- Provide precise consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in English and multiple target languages during meetings, conferences, court appearances, medical appointments, and remote calls.
- Prepare glossaries, terminology banks, and memory aids; ensure consistency across sessions.
- Set up and operate interpretation equipment for simultaneous sessions and remote platforms as needed.
- Maintain strict client confidentiality, neutrality, and professional conduct at all times.
- Collaborate with clients, organizers, and fellow interpreters to understand context, cultural nuances, and terminology.
- Conduct pre-session briefings to clarify objectives, terminology, and expectations; deliver post-session debriefs and notes as required.
- Manage time effectively, adapt to changing agendas, and provide on-site or remote support as required.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Interpretation, Linguistics, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience in interpretation.
- Native or near-native fluency in English and at least one additional language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic).
- Certification in interpreting (CI, CSC, or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of interpretation experience in healthcare, legal, or corporate environments.
- Strong note-taking, memory, and rapid-relay skills; excellent public speaking and cross-cultural communication abilities.
- Ability to perform under pressure, manage travel as needed, and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Familiarity with interpretation equipment and remote platforms (headsets, receivers, conferencing tools).
