Cevas Language and Review Center is inviting passionate, skilled Japanese language instructors to join our team in Baguio City. As a Japanese Language Instructor, you will guide students through practical language skills and cultural insights to help them speak, read, and understand Japanese with confidence. This part-time position offers an engaging, student-centered environment where creativity and effective communication are valued.
In our program, you will deliver customized lessons for beginner to intermediate learners, including conversation practice, listening comprehension, reading, and writing exercises. Emphasis on real-world scenarios, pronunciation, grammar, and cultural context will equip students with usable language for study, travel, or future careers. You will also support learners preparing for language proficiency tests and encourage active participation in class activities.
We are looking for teachers who are reliable, enthusiastic, and able to adapt lessons to different learning styles. The ideal candidate demonstrates professional Japanese fluency (native or near-native) and strong English communication. A background in education or language-related field, as well as prior teaching or tutoring experience, is preferred. Responsibility
- Plan and deliver engaging Japanese language lessons for beginner to intermediate students.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans, activities, and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
- Facilitate speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice using communicative teaching methods.
- Incorporate cultural context and real-life scenarios to enhance language acquisition.
- Track attendance, maintain accurate student records, and report outcomes to the supervisor.
- Use technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning (e.g., online platforms, audio, video).
- Prepare students for language proficiency tests or course requirements when applicable.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Japanese Language, Linguistics, or a related field (or equivalent teaching experience).
- Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese with strong English communication.
- Proven teaching or tutoring experience in Japanese; certification (e.g., JLPT) is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills; patient and encouraging demeanor.
- Ability to design engaging, interactive lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
- Comfort with using digital tools and educational technology for lesson delivery.
- Availability to work part-time, including evenings or weekends as needed, with reliable attendance.
