Join Lumina Studio Collective, a premier fashion and commercial photography studio in New York City. We are seeking a Lead Photographer to shape iconic visuals, guide creative direction on shoots, and collaborate with top-tier brands to deliver compelling campaigns.
As the Lead Photographer, you will oversee lighting, framing, and post-production standards, manage studio workflow, and mentor junior photographers. You will partner with art directors, stylists, and clients to translate briefs into high-impact imagery that resonates with audiences.
Ideal candidates bring a robust portfolio, 8+ years of professional experience, mastery of studio and on-location shoots, advanced retouching and color grading skills, and a client‑centric mindset. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends artistry with operational excellence.
Responsibility
- Lead the photography direction for client campaigns from concept through final delivery.
- Design and execute lighting setups, camera work, and post-production standards for consistency across projects.
- Collaborate with art directors, stylists, and clients to translate briefs into compelling visuals.
- Direct talent, crew, and models on set, ensuring safety, efficiency, and creativity.
- Oversee file management, metadata tagging, and delivery pipelines for timely handoffs.
- Review color, retouching, and final comps; maintain brand-specific look and feel.
- Mentor junior photographers and interns; lead internal workshops and knowledge sharing.
- Manage gear inventory, budget considerations, and location logistics.
Qualification
- 8+ years of professional photography experience in commercial, fashion, or advertising environments.
- Strong portfolio showcasing lighting mastery, composition, and storytelling.
- Expertise in studio and on-location lighting (e.g., Profoto, Broncolor) and advanced retouching.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom; strong color management and grading skills.
- Excellent on-set leadership, client communication, and project management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple shoots and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- BA/BS in Photography, Visual Arts, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
- Legal work authorization in the United States; willingness to travel as needed.
