Job description

Lumina Studio NYC is seeking a passionate and capable Photographer to join our premium team. We specialize in high-end portrait, fashion, and brand shoots for a diverse client base. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced studio and on-location environments, offering growth opportunities and exposure to award-winning projects.

As a photographer, you will bring creative vision, technical excellence, and a client-focused mindset to every shoot. You will collaborate with stylists, art directors, and retouchers to deliver remarkable imagery that aligns with brand standards and storytelling goals. This is a full-time role based in New York City with occasional travel.

Responsibility

  • Plan and execute high-quality photo shoots for studio and on-location environments, including portraits, fashion, branding, and events.
  • Manage lighting setups, camera equipment, and shooting schedules to maximize efficiency and creative outcomes.
  • Direct models and collaborators to achieve compelling poses and expressions aligned with the client's concept.
  • Review and select best images on-set and collaborate with editors for post-production workflow.
  • Perform basic post-production including color correction, retouching, and file delivery in multiple formats.
  • Maintain studio organization, equipment inventory, and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop concept boards, shot lists, and mood boards.
  • Provide exceptional client service, including pre-shoot briefings, on-site communication, and timely delivery of final images.

Qualification

  • Proven experience as a professional photographer with a strong portfolio across portraits, fashion, or branding.
  • Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting systems (strobes, continuous light), and grip equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom; experience with retouching and color grading.
  • Strong eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling; ability to adapt to diverse client needs.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills; ability to work on multiple shoots per week.
  • Portfolio demonstrating high-quality work, including on-location shoots and in-studio photography.
  • Willingness to travel within the NYC area and occasional national shoots; valid work visa if applicable.
  • Comfort with directing talent and collaborating with stylists, makeup artists, and art directors.
