Join Lumen Studio, a boutique photography studio in New York City specializing in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle campaigns. We are seeking a Lead Photographer to drive our creative vision on set and in post-production. You will partner with stylists, art directors, and clients to deliver world-class imagery that resonates across channels.
As our Lead Photographer, you'll own the shoot from concept through delivery, mentor junior photographers, and maintain the highest standards of image quality and on-brand storytelling.
Responsibility
- Lead and concept shoots from pre-production to delivery, ensuring brand integrity and creative quality
- Scouting locations, assembling lighting setups, and directing on-set talent and crew
- Collaborate with stylists, art directors, and clients to translate briefs into compelling imagery
- Oversee color grading and retouching direction in collaboration with senior retouchers
- Manage production timelines, equipment budgets, and risk assessment on set
- Maintain quality control for deliverables including multi-resolution assets
- Mentor junior photographers and interns, sharing best practices and workflows
- Ensure consistent adherence to brand guidelines and creative standards across campaigns
Qualification
- 5+ years of professional studio/field photography experience in fashion, beauty or lifestyle
- Strong portfolio with high-end editorial work
- Expert knowledge of lighting (strobe, continuous, modifiers)
- Proficiency in on-set workflow and client communication
- Proficient in RAW processing and color grading (Capture One, Lightroom)
- Experience with post-production workflows and liaising with retouchers
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple shoots
- Team-player with leadership qualities
