Job description

Lumina Studio Collective is a premier photography studio in New York City, specializing in editorial, fashion, and commercial imagery. We are seeking a Lead Photographer to join our creative team and drive compelling campaigns from concept to delivery.

As Lead Photographer, you will shape visual storytelling, direct on-set production, and collaborate with Art Directors, stylists, and clients to elevate brand narratives. This role blends creative leadership with hands-on image capture and hands-on post-production oversight.

Responsibility

  • Lead and plan shoots from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and client objectives.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors, Stylists, Producers, and clients to establish creative direction and shoot logistics.
  • Manage lighting setups, camera systems, and on-set workflow to maximize efficiency and image quality.
  • Direct talent and crew on set; maintain a safe, collaborative, and professional environment.
  • Oversee on-set styling, composition, and framing to realize a cohesive visual language.
  • Lead post-production workflow including color grading, retouching oversight, and final delivery packaging.
  • Maintain equipment inventory, vendor relationships, and adherence to budget and schedules.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of professional photography experience in editorial, fashion, or commercial markets.
  • Proficiency with mirrorless/DSLR systems, lighting gear, modifiers, and studio setup.
  • Strong post-production skills in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Capture One; expert color grading and retouching.
  • Outstanding aesthetic judgment, storytelling ability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to direct talent and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across campaigns and genres.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; willing to travel for shoots as required.
