Responsibility
- Deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science (e.g., programming, data structures, algorithms, software engineering) and contribute to course design and delivery.
- Develop and maintain current, inclusive, and outcome-aligned syllabi, assessments, and learning materials.
- Implement evidence-based teaching strategies to support diverse learners and foster student engagement.
- Mentor and supervise student projects, capstones, and research initiatives; provide actionable feedback on progress.
- Assess student performance using fair grading practices and timely feedback; maintain transparent communication with students and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation activities, and cross-listing with related departments.
- Engage with industry and community partners to integrate real-world applications and expand internship opportunities.
- Pursue scholarly activity and professional development; contribute to grant proposals, publications, and conference presentations as appropriate.
Qualification
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field; PhD preferred for some tracks; equivalent professional experience considered.
- Demonstrated college/university teaching experience; commitment to inclusive pedagogy and student success.
- Strong knowledge of core CS fundamentals and proficiency in modern languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment design, and program assessment methods.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills; ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative environment.
- Evidence of scholarly activity or a demonstrated potential for research and publication.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, or similar) and online/hybrid teaching modalities.
- Organizational skills, time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
