Responsibility
- Deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and related disciplines with clear learning outcomes.
- Design and update curricula, assessments, and learning materials aligned with program goals.
- Mentor and advise students, supervise capstone projects, internships, and independent study.
- Promote inclusive teaching practices and support diverse student cohorts through accessible course design.
- Engage in scholarly activity and collaborative research with faculty, while balancing teaching responsibilities.
- Contribute to program accreditation efforts, course scheduling, and assessment reporting.
- Participate in service activities, including student mentoring programs, curriculum committees, and outreach.
- Utilize learning management systems and digital tools to enhance teaching and student engagement.
Qualification
- Terminal degree in computer science or a closely related field; PhD preferred or anticipated ABD with strong teaching record.
- Demonstrated college or university teaching experience, with a track record of effective pedagogy and student mentorship.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software engineering, and modern CS topics; proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse learners.
- Familiarity with online and hybrid teaching modalities; experience with LMS platforms such as Canvas or Blackboard.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting a diverse campus community; ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
- Experience advising student projects, internships, or research experiences; ability to supervise capstone experiences.
- Applied experience in research or industry relevant to CS to enhance coursework and student experiences.
