The University of Oxford invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy. Responsibility
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy, including core and elective offerings.
- Lead discussion sections and supervise students in seminars and tutorials.
- Supervise undergraduate and masters theses and doctoral research when applicable.
- Develop course materials, assessments, and innovative teaching approaches.
- Engage in active research with a clear plan for dissemination and impact.
- Review and contribute to department curriculum and policy development.
- Participate in service activities, outreach, and collegial governance.
Qualification
- PhD in Philosophy or related field by the start date.
- Evidence of outstanding teaching and mentoring at university level.
- Strong research portfolio with publications in peer-reviewed venues.
- Ability to teach a broad range of core areas (ethics, epistemology, logic, metaphysics).
- Experience supervising student theses or dissertations.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and collegiality skills.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching and research.
