Oakbridge University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Theology in the College of Liberal Arts. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs, advance theological scholarship, and foster an inclusive learning environment grounded in rigorous analysis of sacred texts and contemporary religious issues.
We seek a thoughtful teacher with demonstrated ability to translate complex theological concepts into accessible learning experiences, and a track record of scholarly writing or publication in theology or related fields.
Responsibility
- Teach foundational and advanced theology courses across undergraduate and graduate programs, including systematic theology, biblical studies, and ethics.
- Develop and review syllabi, course materials, and assessment methods aligned with departmental standards.
- Conduct meaningful scholarly research and publish work in peer reviewed journals or equivalent venues.
- Advise and mentor students, supervise independent study projects, and support capstone or thesis work.
- Participate in department governance, committee work, and program accreditation activities.
- Contribute to public theology initiatives, guest lectures, and community engagement opportunities.
- Promote inclusive pedagogy and support for diverse student populations.
Qualification
- PhD or terminal degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a closely related field; ABD considered with defined milestones.
- Evidence of effective university teaching with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Active research agenda with publications, conference presentations, or funded projects.
- Ability to teach a broad range of theology topics and to integrate faith with critical inquiry.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in curriculum, classroom practice, and student engagement.
- Experience advising students and contributing to mentorship programs and academic advising.
- Familiarity with online and hybrid teaching modalities is preferred.
