Private Advertiser invites applications for a dynamic Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Data Science within the Faculty of Business & Technology. Responsibility
- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate courses in data science, machine learning, analytics, and related disciplines.
- Design, develop, and update course materials, assessments, and learning outcomes with a focus on industry relevance.
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate projects and postgraduate theses; provide constructive feedback and guidance to students.
- Lead and participate in research activities in data science, publish in peer reviewed venues, and pursue grant opportunities where possible.
- Collaborate with internal faculties and external industry partners to foster knowledge transfer and applied learning opportunities.
- Contribute to programme development, accreditation processes, and quality assurance across the faculty.
- Engage in community and outreach activities, representing the department at events and conferences.
Qualification
- PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field; for Senior Lecturer, equivalent professional experience with a demonstrated track record.
- Proven teaching excellence with a track record of effective student learning outcomes and feedback.
- Strong research portfolio in data science, machine learning, analytics, or related areas with publications in reputable journals or conferences.
- Proficiency in data science tools and programming languages (eg Python, R, SQL) and experience with ML frameworks.
- Ability to design and deliver high quality courses across undergraduate and postgraduate levels; experience supervising MSc/PhD research students.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills; ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and engage with industry partners.
