Responsibility
- Deliver and oversee undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Islamic Finance and related modules within the Faculty of Business Technology.
- Design, develop, and continuously update course curricula, assessments, and learning materials to ensure industry relevance and academic rigor.
- Supervise and mentor student research projects, dissertations, and internships at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.
- Engage in active research in Islamic finance, publish in high-impact journals, and present at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate with industry partners, regulators, and professional bodies to enhance curriculum, run guest lectures, and secure internship opportunities.
- Lead program development, contribute to quality assurance, accreditation processes, and academic committees.
- Contribute to student support, academic advising, and a positive learning environment through inclusive teaching practices.
Qualification
- PhD in Islamic Finance, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field; or an equivalent terminal degree with a strong research portfolio.
- Demonstrated university-level teaching experience in Islamic Finance or closely related disciplines.
- Proven research record with peer-reviewed publications and an active research agenda.
- Experience supervising postgraduate research (master’s/PhD) and mentoring students.
- Strong knowledge of Shariah-compliant financial instruments, risk management, ethics, and regulatory context.
- Ability to teach across online, blended, and on-campus modalities; excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in curriculum design, program development, and quality assurance processes.
- Professional engagement with industry or financial services sectors and proficiency in data analysis and research methods.
