Apex Legal Partners is seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to join our NYC team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to shape contract strategy, support cross functional teams, and advise on complex regulatory matters.
As a Legal Counsel, you will draft and negotiate high stakes agreements, perform regulatory and risk assessment, and guide corporate governance initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with practical business acumen and excellent communication.

Responsibility
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including NDAs, service agreements, licensing, and vendor contracts
- Provide practical legal advice to executives and cross functional teams on business initiatives and regulatory compliance
- Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law to inform risk assessments
- Develop contract templates and playbooks to accelerate deal velocity while maintaining risk controls
- Support corporate governance, regulatory filings, and board materials as needed
- Lead due diligence and integration support for partnerships and acquisitions
- Manage and coordinate external counsel for complex matters
Qualification
- 3-6 years of relevant corporate counsel or contracts experience in a law firm or in house
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; bar admission in New York or eligible to register
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail
- Excellent legal research and analytical abilities
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non lawyers
- Experience with regulatory compliance, privacy, data security, or antitrust a plus
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in legal research databases such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
