Blue Mesa Midwifery Collective is seeking a skilled Licensed Midwife to join our collaborative practice in Austin, Texas. As a team member, you will provide holistic prenatal care, intrapartum and postpartum support, and education tailored to diverse communities, while collaborating with obstetricians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure safe, empowering births.
Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for individuals and families in alignment with evidence-based midwifery standards.
- Support labor and birth with hands-on evidence-based management, monitoring, and emergency preparedness.
- Develop personalized birth plans and educate families on options, risks, and informed consent.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and community resources to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain strict confidentiality and compliance.
- Offer lactation support and newborn assessment in the postpartum period.
- Mentor and collaborate with student midwives or new hires as needed to uphold practice standards.
Qualification
- Current licensure/credential as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) eligible to practice in Texas.
- Active state license and valid professional liability insurance.
- Strong knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice in obstetrics, intrapartum care, and neonatal safety.
- Excellent communication and culturally sensitive care delivery for diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently with a collaborative mindset, including on-call availability as required.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and standard obstetric documentation.
- Current CPR/BLS and NRP certification; commitment to ongoing professional development.
