Responsibility
- Dispense medications accurately while verifying dosage, interactions, and patient eligibility in accordance with regulations.
- Provide thorough patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and adherence strategies.
- Oversee prescription intake, triage refill requests, and resolve insurance or formulary issues.
- Collaborate with prescribers and healthcare team to optimize therapy and address drug therapy problems.
- Lead medication safety initiatives, perform drug utilization reviews, and maintain accurate records.
- Mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Manage inventory, controlled substances, and procurement to minimize waste and loss.
- Promote public health programs such as vaccination administration and wellness screenings where applicable.
Qualification
- PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy or equivalent
- Current pharmacist license in the state of Washington and eligible for active practice
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy practice experience preferred
- Strong counseling and communication skills with patients and healthcare teams
- Knowledge of HIPAA, medication safety practices, and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to manage inventory and pharmacy operations in a fast paced environment
- Excellent problem solving and attention to detail
- Team player with leadership capabilities and a customer focus
