Responsibility
- Dispense medications accurately and safely, following all regulatory and company procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Provide comprehensive patient counseling on dosage, administration, potential interactions, side effects, and adherence strategies.
- Perform medication therapy management and participate in clinical programs to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
- Compound and prepare sterile and non-sterile medications in compliance with USP and facility standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug therapy problems and optimize regimens.
- Administer immunizations (if certified) and participate in vaccination campaigns to improve community health.
- Maintain inventory, manage controlled substances, and ensure regulatory compliance and documentation.
- Support pharmacy operations, quality assurance, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
Qualification
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent; active Pharmacist license in California.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical or community pharmacy experience; hospital or integrated care setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug interactions, and safety monitoring.
- Excellent patient communication and counseling skills; ability to engage diverse populations.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and dispensing software (eg, EPIC, Pyxis, ScriptPro); data entry accuracy.
- Immunization certification and current CPR/First Aid or BLS; willingness to obtain if not certified.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance.
