NorthPoint Logistics, a leading national provider of end-to-end supply chain solutions, is seeking a results-driven Logistics Operations Manager to join our Chicago team. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution to ensure peak performance across warehousing, inbound and outbound logistics, and transportation.
As the Logistics Operations Manager, you will drive operational excellence, partner with customers and internal stakeholders, and lead a team of supervisors to deliver exceptional service while controlling costs.
Responsibility
- Oversee daily end-to-end logistics operations including warehousing, inbound, outbound, and transportation to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries.
- Develop and optimize warehouse layout and processes to improve throughput, accuracy, and safety.
- Define, monitor, and report KPIs such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, and cost per shipment.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with procurement, sales, and customer service to meet service levels and resolve exceptions.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers, negotiating terms and monitoring performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven analysis to reduce cost-to-serve and cycle times.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements and maintain up-to-date standard operating procedures.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
- 5+ years of logistics or operations management experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of WMS and ERP systems (examples SAP, Oracle, Oracle NetSuite)
- Proven track record of process optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent communication, analytics, and data-driven decision-making abilities
- Ability to travel as needed and adapt to a dynamic, customer-centric environment
