BlueRiver Logistics is seeking a results-driven Transportation Operations Manager to lead our Houston-based team. You will oversee carrier relationships, route optimization, performance analytics, and regulatory compliance to deliver exceptional service at the lowest total cost.

Responsibility

- Lead daily transportation operations across inbound and outbound freight, ensuring optimal route planning and on-time performance. \n
- Manage carrier relationships, procurement, contract negotiations, and ongoing performance reviews. \n
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to reduce cost-to-serve while maintaining service levels. \n
- Monitor and report KPIs (OTD, cost per mile, transit times, carrier scorecards) and initiate corrective actions as needed. \n
- Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations, safety policies, and required recordkeeping. \n
- Collaborate with warehousing, inventory planning, and customer service to optimize end-to-end supply chain flows. \n
- Lead process improvements and technology initiatives (TMS, analytics dashboards) to scale operations. \n
- Mentor and develop the transportation team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning. \n
Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. \n
- Minimum 5 years of transportation/logistics management experience, preferably in a multi-site or growth environment. \n
- Proven track record in route optimization, carrier negotiations, and KPI management. \n
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in TMS platforms and Excel (and data visualization tools). \n
- Sound knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety compliance requirements. \n
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities. \n
- Ability to manage budgets, drive cost optimization, and implement process improvements. \n
