NorthBridge Logistics is seeking a highly capable Logistics Operations Manager to lead end-to-end logistics operations in Chicago, IL. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution to optimize warehouse performance, transportation, and inventory control.
You will collaborate with warehousing, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure on-time delivery, accuracy, and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate is data-driven, communicative, and relentlessly focused on continuous improvement.
Responsibility
- Lead and optimize daily warehouse operations across inbound, outbound, and inventory management.
- Design and implement efficient transportation planning and route optimization to reduce costs and improve on-time performance.
- Manage vendor relationships with carriers, 3PLs, and suppliers; negotiate terms and service levels.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare actionable reports for leadership and stakeholders.
- Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and loss prevention initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (OSHA, DOT, FDA where applicable).
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes, systems (WMS/TMS), and data integrity.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing logistics team, setting clear goals and accountability.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, operations, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools; experience with WMS/TMS (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Oracle Transportation Management).
- Solid understanding of inventory control, demand planning, and transportation management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven track record of process improvement, cost reduction, and on-time delivery optimization.
- Relevant certifications (APICS CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar) are a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities.
