Join our growing logistics team as a Logistics Operations Manager in Chicago. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution to optimize warehousing, transportation, and distribution networks. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable service, reduce costs, and scale operations for a fast-paced business.
As a member of the logistics leadership team, you will define process improvements, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end logistics operations including warehousing, transportation, and order fulfillment to meet service level agreements.
- Design and optimize network routes, carrier selections, and freight cost structures to maximize on-time delivery and efficiency.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance; analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with procurement, IT, and sales to align supply chain plans with business objectives.
- Oversee inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse safety to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and negotiate service level agreements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices across ERP and TMS systems.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management or related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of logistics experience in a fast-paced environment with progressive responsibilities.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP, Oracle or other ERP systems.
- Proven track record in cost optimization, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Project management certification or experience leading process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to thrive in a customer-focused setting with a bias for action and problem solving.
