Join a leading logistics partner in Chicago, delivering end-to-end supply chain excellence for e-commerce, retail, and manufacturing clients. We are seeking a results-driven Logistics Operations Specialist to optimize inbound and outbound flows, lead KPI-driven improvements, and uphold safety and compliance across all operations.
As a key member of our operations team, you will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure flawless execution from receipt to final delivery, while driving efficiency, accuracy, and cost discipline in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibility
- Coordinate and optimize inbound receiving, outbound shipping, and last-mile delivery to meet service level agreements.
- Monitor carrier performance, negotiate rates, and select cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Lead warehouse processes including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and track KPIs (OTIF, dock-to-ship, order cycle times).
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service to align demand planning and fulfillment.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards; manage risk and incident reporting.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and training programs for staff.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, distribution, or transportation management; 3PL experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data tools (Excel, BI dashboards) and WMS/TMS systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards (OSHA, DOT) and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing customer requirements.
