Private Advertiser is seeking a reliable Lorry Driver to support our steel trading and processing operations. Our business specializes in flat and long steel products, and you will play a key role in delivering these materials safely to customers, warehouses, and project sites across Shah Alam and nearby regions. As a Lorry Driver, you will be responsible for timely, safe, and compliant deliveries, working closely with dispatch and warehouse teams to plan routes and maintain accurate delivery records. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, load and secure cargo using appropriate equipment, and ensure weight limits and stacking procedures are followed. Expect routine communication with customers and internal teams to manage expectations and resolve issues quickly. Responsibility
- Safely operate company trucks to transport steel products to customers, depots, and project sites within Shah Alam and surrounding areas, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report any mechanical issues to maintenance and ensure the vehicle is safe for operation.
- Load, secure, and unload steel products using proper equipment, ensuring cargo is safely restrained and compliant with weight limits.
- Plan efficient delivery routes, monitor traffic conditions, and adjust schedules to meet customer deadlines.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and fuel usage; hand over delivery notes to customers and internal teams.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers; provide professional and courteous service.
- Observe all road safety regulations and company safety policies; participate in safety briefings and training.
- Perform basic vehicle checks and routine maintenance tasks, report faults promptly, and coordinate repairs as needed.
Qualification
- Valid driving license appropriate for heavy vehicles with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lorry/heavy vehicle driver.
- Knowledge of road rules and traffic regulations in Malaysia.
- Ability to load and secure cargo safely; experience with basic cargo handling.
- Physical ability to lift/move goods and endure long hours of driving.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and route planning abilities.
- Good communication and customer service skills in Malay and English.
- Familiarity with Shah Alam, Klang Valley routes, and local delivery networks.
