Job description

Join StandardAero as a Machinist I in Singapore and contribute to precision manufacturing for aerospace customers. In this hands-on role, you’ll set up and operate machine tools, including CNC milling machines, lathes, and coordinate measuring equipment (CMM), translating blueprints and GD&T into accurate parts. You’ll select tools, establish offsets, verify first-run setups, and monitor ongoing production to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and geometry. You’ll thrive in a safety-focused environment that values workmanship, accountability, and teamwork.

You’ll collaborate with design engineers and quality specialists to interpret specifications, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements. The position offers substantial exposure to inspection, calibration, tool wear management, and basic programming concepts. StandardAero supports ongoing training, mentoring, and opportunities to progress into more advanced CNC roles, tooling, and process optimization. If you’re meticulous, have an eye for detail, and enjoy hands-on manufacturing, this is the ideal place to begin or advance your career in aerospace machining.

StandardAero provides competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a culture that prioritizes safety, diversity, and professional growth. You’ll join a global aerospace maintenance leader with a track record of delivering reliable components and innovative solutions. This role is suitable for entry-level machinists who are eager to develop technical skills, gain exposure to aerospace standards, and contribute to a world-class production environment.

Responsibility

  • Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines, ensuring correct tooling, offsets, and fixtures.
  • Prepare and load jobs, select appropriate cutting parameters, and monitor machining processes for quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect components using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and CMM where available; document measurements and report variances.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, perform basic maintenance, and maintain a clean, organized work area for safety and productivity.
  • Coordinate with engineering and quality teams to interpret drawings and GD&T, ensuring parts meet customer requirements.
  • Document machine setup, process parameters, production counts, and non-conformances in the MES/ERP system.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, suggest tooling or fixture changes, and participate in root-cause analysis for quality issues.
  • Assist in training operators and mentoring junior machinists as needed.

Qualification

  • Technical Diploma or equivalent in precision machining, manufacturing technology, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machines (milling and/or turning) and basic knowledge of CMM or inspection equipment is preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T symbols.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools (verniers, micrometers, calipers) and standard shop measuring practices.
  • Safety-conscious with good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced aerospace machining environment; good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with ERP/MES systems or manufacturing software is a plus.
  • Eligible to work in Singapore; prior aerospace or regulated environment experience is advantageous but not required.
