Job description
Kick-start your career with the National Oilwell Varco Management Trainee program in Malaysia. This immersive, multi-disciplinary program is designed for ambitious graduates who want to accelerate their careers in engineering and manufacturing for the energy sector. Over a structured rotation of 12-18 months, you will work closely with experienced engineers and operations leaders, gaining exposure to product design, manufacturing processes, quality control, health and safety standards, and project execution. You will contribute to live projects, learn how NOV's advanced equipment is engineered and manufactured, and develop hands-on skills that span the entire product lifecycle.
As a participant in this program, you will:
- Rotates through core engineering and manufacturing functions to understand end-to-end operations
- Assist in problem solving and process improvement on the shop floor and in engineering labs
- Support new product development, trials, and equipment commissioning
- Collect and analyze data to drive continuous improvement and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, supply chain, and maintenance
- Practice safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all activities
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders
- Develop leadership and communication skills through mentoring and hands-on projects
Who you are:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related engineering field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-driven mindset
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate across functions
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Internship or project experience in manufacturing or engineering is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with data analysis and basic CAD/ERP tools is a plus
- Willingness to participate in a structured multi-rotation program and to relocate to Pasir Gudang, Johor if required
- Proficiency in English; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
