Job description
We are seeking a skilled Maritime Navigation Specialist to join our team in Singapore. The successful candidate will lead navigation planning, monitor real-time vessel movements, and ensure compliance with international maritime regulations. This role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and hands-on experience with modern navigation systems.

Responsibility
- Lead voyage planning, route optimization, and fuel-efficient navigation strategies
- Monitor real-time vessel movements via AIS, ECDIS, ARPA, and bridge systems
- Ensure compliance with SOLAS, COLREGs, and port state control requirements
- Coordinate with master, bridge team, and operations for safe, on-time transits
- Perform risk assessments and develop contingency plans for adverse weather or equipment failures
- Maintain and validate navigation data, charts, and navigational publications
- Provide mentorship and training to junior navigators and watchstanders
- Interface with pilots, port authorities, and agents during port calls
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science, Marine Transportation, or equivalent
- Class 1 Master Mariner license or recognized navigation officer certification
- Minimum 5 years sea-going experience in navigation roles on merchant vessels
- Proficiency with ECDIS, ARPA, AIS, GMDSS, and modern bridge teamwork
- Strong knowledge of COLREGs, SOLAS, weather routing, and ship handling
- Excellent decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts and in high-pressure scenarios
- Willingness to relocate or travel for port calls as needed
