Join our team as a Senior Maritime Navigation Specialist in Singapore, leading voyage planning, ECDIS, AIS integration, and safety-critical navigation operations for a global fleet. Responsibility
- Lead and optimize voyage planning, route selection, and fuel-efficiency strategies using ECDIS and integrated navigation systems.
- Oversee real-time bridge operations, alarm management, and AIS data quality across the fleet.
- Develop and conduct navigational risk assessments, contingency planning, and incident reviews.
- Coordinate with meteorological services for weather routing and climatological updates.
- Ensure compliance with SOLAS, COLREGs, and flag-state requirements; support audits and inspections.
- Mentor junior navigators, deliver training on navigation software, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with IT and operations to implement navigation data analytics and performance dashboards.
- Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Navigation, or a related field; advanced certifications (Officer of the Watch, Master Mariner) preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years of professional maritime navigation experience, including ECDIS, ARPA, radar, and AIS systems.
- Proven track record in voyage planning, weather routing, and risk assessment in global operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and training skills; ability to manage high-pressure situations at sea.
- In-depth knowledge of SOLAS, COLREGs, and flag-state regulations; familiarity with maritime software and data analytics.
- Proficiency with navigation programming, data interfaces, and performance metrics; comfortable working with remote teams.
- Fluency in English; additional languages a plus.
