This on-site role in Singapore offers exposure to advanced ECDIS, ARPA, and voyage optimization projects, with a clear path to leadership.

You'll work closely with bridge teams, port authorities, and operations groups to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant voyages. This role provides a unique chance to mentor junior navigators, drive performance metrics, and contribute to fleet safety programs.

Responsibility

  • Lead voyage planning and real-time navigational decision-making using ECDIS, ARPA radar, and integrated bridge systems.
  • Ensure compliance with COLREGs, SOLAS, MARPOL, and company safety policies across all operations.
  • Develop and review voyage plans, weather routing, and risk assessments; adjust routes as conditions change.
  • Coordinate with bridge teams, pilots, port authorities, and operations to ensure safe arrivals and departures.
  • Maintain and calibrate navigation equipment; oversee routine drills, testing, and incident investigations.
  • Provide training and mentoring to navigational officers and crew; promote bridge resource management and safety culture.
  • Prepare voyage reports, performance metrics, and root-cause analyses for incidents and near-misses.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or related field; or STCW endorsed navigation certificate (Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch).
  • 5+ years of professional maritime navigation experience or equivalent in voyage planning and watchkeeping.
  • Proficiency with ECDIS (type-specific), ARPA radar, automated plotting, and integrated bridge systems.
  • Strong knowledge of COLREGs, SOLAS, MARPOL, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Certification: valid STCW II/2 or III/2, current medical certificate; DP certification is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills; ability to train and mentor others under pressure.
  • Willingness to relocate to Singapore and travel as required; fluent in English.
