Join AquaNav Maritime Solutions, a premium leader in navigational technology and voyage management. We are seeking a proactive Maritime Navigation Specialist to underpin safe, efficient seaborne operations for our global clients.
As part of our Navigation team, you will collaborate with shipmasters, fleet planners, and tech engineers to ensure accurate route planning, timely vessel positioning, and compliant operations across diverse trading lanes.
Responsibility
- Plan and optimize voyage routes using ECDIS, AIS, radar, and weather routing tools to minimize risk and fuel consumption.
- Monitor vessel progress and update navigation plans in response to weather, traffic, and port constraints.
- Ensure compliance with COLREGs and international navigation standards; provide guidance to bridge teams.
- Coordinate with port authorities, pilots, and charterers to support safe arrivals, departures, and handovers.
- Analyze navigational data to identify performance improvements and maintain voyage logs for audits.
- Troubleshoot navigation systems, liaise with vendors, and oversee periodic system updates and training.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science, Marine Transportation, or related field; master's degree preferred.
- Valid Chief Mate or Master Mariner certificate recognized by a leading flag state.
- Minimum 5 years ocean-going experience; leadership exposure on bridge operations.
- Proficiency with ECDIS, AIS, radar, ARPA, and nautical publications; strong data interpretation skills.
- Solid knowledge of COLREGs, weather routing, and safety management systems.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and teamwork abilities; ability to work under pressure across time zones.
- Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.
