You will design, implement, and maintain advanced navigation systems used on ships, offshore platforms, and port facilities. Responsibility
- Design and implement maritime navigation systems including ECDIS, AIS, radar integration, GNSS, and inertial navigation components.
- Lead system integration, lab testing, and sea trials to validate performance and reliability.
- Develop voyage planning, safety monitoring, and route optimization software.
- Collaborate with ship operators, port authorities, and class societies to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to crew and operations staff.
- Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and project timelines.
- Document architecture, interfaces, and change control in accordance with quality management processes.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master degree in electrical engineering, marine engineering, naval architecture, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with maritime navigation systems such as ECDIS, AIS, radar, and integrated bridge systems.
- Strong knowledge of SOLAS, IMO standards, and class society requirements; familiarity with IEC 61174 and IEC 62288 is a plus.
- Proficient in software integration, scripting, and basic programming for navigation tools (Python, MATLAB, or similar).
- Experience with sea trials, commissioning, and certification processes.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross functional collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work on ships or in port environments and travel as needed.
