Responsibility
- Lead the design, integration, and validation of onboard and shore-based navigation systems (ECDIS, ARPA, RADAR, AIS, GNSS) within integrated bridge solutions.
- Specify performance requirements, participate in FAT/SAT, and oversee system commissioning and acceptance with customers and class societies.
- Develop voyage planning procedures, watchkeeping protocols, and failure-response playbooks to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Collaborate with fleet stakeholders to define navigation needs, conduct risk assessments, and implement cyber security measures for navigation systems.
- Provide hands-on training to bridge teams and technical support for ongoing system maintenance and upgrades.
- Prepare technical documentation, installation manuals, and maintenance schedules; manage project timelines and budgets.
- Stay current with IMO SOLAS, IHO, and class society requirements; drive continuous improvement through audits and reviews.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience with navigation systems (ECDIS, ARPA, Radar, AIS) on commercial vessels or in maritime tech environments.
- Strong proficiency with ECDIS platforms and integration of ARPA, Radar, AIS, and GNSS into Integrated Bridge Systems; familiarity with vendor software (e.g., Transas/NAVIS, Wartsila or similar).
- Valid STCW certification; Officer in Charge of Navigating Watch (OOW) or higher preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills; experience in training and knowledge transfer.
- Effective communication and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams; willingness to travel regionally as needed.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
