Responsibility
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for automotive applications, from concept to production.
- Create and optimize 3D CAD models (SolidWorks preferred) and simulations to validate design intent.
- Apply GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards to ensure tight tolerances and manufacturability.
- Perform FEA/CFD analyses (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation) to assess structural integrity and thermal performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams to drive Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly.
- Plan and execute prototype testing, data collection, and analysis to support design decisions.
- Manage bill of materials (BOM), release drawings, and coordinate change control within PLM systems.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; master’s preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience in automotive or equivalent heavy industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or Creo); experience with PDM/PLM systems a plus.
- Strong understanding of FEA/CFD, GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience, with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines and levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, supply chain interactions, and quality systems (APQP, PPAP) is desirable.
