Responsibility
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for new and existing products using CAD tools
- Perform tolerance analysis and GD&T to ensure manufacturability and assembly fit
- Conduct FEA and thermal analysis to validate performance under real world conditions
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to optimize producibility and cost
- Create and maintain BOMs, specifications, and documentation in PLM system
- Lead design reviews with internal stakeholders and customers
- Prototype testing and validation, analyze results and implement design changes
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; MS preferred
- 3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience in product development
- Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo
- Experience with FEA tools like ANSYS or Abaqus and GD&T knowledge
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining and casting
- Strong communication, project management, and cross functional collaboration
- US work authorization and ability to work on site in Detroit
