Job description
We are seeking a highly capable Mechanical Engineer to join our Detroit based product development team. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and optimization of precision mechanical systems across automotive and industrial applications. This is a hands-on role that blends creativity with rigorous engineering standards.
As part of our core engineering group, you will collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, cost effective solutions from concept to production.
Responsibility
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA
- Perform tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability and robust product design (DFM and DFA)
- Conduct FEA and thermal analyses to validate performance under real world conditions
- Plan and execute prototyping, testing, and verification activities
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to define product requirements and ensure design intent
- Support design reviews, risk assessments and regulatory compliance
- Create and maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and specifications
- Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives across programs
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master degree preferred
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial sectors
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and thermal analysis
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stackups, and DFx
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Experience with manufacturing processes, materials selection and prototyping
- Authorized to work in the United States and willing to travel up to 10% if required
